Mr. Madan Bohra, a marketing professional in the perfume industry, had been leading a conventional life in Delhi, catering to various brands and traveling across the globe for the same. However, the outbreak of the pandemic made him realize that his preconceived notions about life were not entirely accurate. Consequently, he felt a strong urge to return to his roots and lead a peaceful existence. His extensive travels had enabled him to gain a unique perspective on life and work.
Upon returning to his village after an extended period, Mr. Bohra was disheartened to discover the lack of educational opportunities for children. Driven by a sense of responsibility, he decided to take matters into his own hands and create a library for children of all ages. Additionally, he endeavored to assist government primary and high schools in providing better opportunities for their students.
He left the city and started a homestay at Kanda Village Valley, Champawat, Uttarakhand
The homestay involves various activities, such as farming, herding, jungle walk, trekking, teaching, cooking, and handicrafts
He connected with HVT and expressed his desire to start a learning center for the children of his village
Hvt’s initiative Srot Rural Education and Development Foundation supported Madan financially to start the center. Srot also shared books for a local library
HvT Volunteers have been visiting his two associate schools he supports regularly and helping to bring in change and development
Madan is also working towards community development and trying to initiate awareness about climate change, better healthcare and farming techniques.
Mr. Bohra's unwavering commitment to making a difference in his village through education and homestay business is a testament to his strong work ethic, forward-thinking mindset, and visionary leadership
